Following this decision, all social networking providers except Pinterest announced that they would have representatives in Türkiye.

As of October 1, 2020, in accordance with the additional article 4 of the Law No. 5651, which entered into force, the companies that do not agree to open representative office in Türkiye were fined 10 million in the first step and a total of 40 million pounds, including 30 million pounds in the second step.
Following this fine, social media giants such as Tiktok, Youtube and Facebook decided to appoint representatives, while Twitter, Periscope and Pinterest, who could not appoint a representative, had a ban on advertising in January 2021.
