Facebook replaced the Windows 10 Osmeta Instagram application with Progressive Web App (Advanced Web App) last December, and has active this change on Instagram. Finally, on July 13, 2018, Instagram, which received a desktop update, started to serve with a new PWA -based version as of today.
With the new update, support was provided for DM (direct message) on the desktop. Thus, it was allowed to access their messages through the desktop application and send messages to the people they want. The update also contains usual error corrections and some improvements.
There can now be a message from Instagram’s desktop application
In the meantime, the updates are valid for the Instagram application that you can download for free from Microsoft Store. Therefore, let us remind you that only Windows 10 users can benefit from Instagram’s desktop direct message feature.
On the other hand, the desktop version of Instagram to the PWA base shows that the application will be the scene of much more innovation in the coming days. Perhaps the application may support some popular features, such as augmented reality (AR) camera filters in the future.
